BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is for anyone who is looking to learn a self-defense skill, or just get a great full-body workout! Our women led classes by our Brown Belt Instructors provide a safe, professional environment for all who walk on the mat. Gi and No Gi classes are offered during the week, as well as designated rolling time.

MMA

Our MMA program is geared toward those who hope to become a Pro Fighter or those who want to just train like one! Mix up your striking, wrestling, and jiu jitsu in this class. If you’re looking to have good sparring rounds to get fight ready, or looking to just get into shape, look no further!

Wrestling

Take the fight to the ground! We offer No Gi Jiu Jitsu, Cage Wrestling, and Wrestling for MMA. Our wrestling program will help you improve your skill set from High School wrestling to ADCC competitions alike.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

We all want to know which came first, the chicken or the egg? With Alyssa, she was a Martial Artist who fell in love with fitness and that motivated her to pursue her degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science. Train from someone who walks the walk and knows what fighters and BJJ competitors need to take their training to the next level.

STRIKING

Striking for MMA is a blend of Kickboxing and Muay Thai techniques. We use practical drilling and pad work to develop stand-up fighting skills to utilize in the cage. This class is for high level strikers and beginners alike. This class will increase your stamina & endurance, and teach you the skills that have been passed down from coaches like Kru Bob Perez and Michael Chase Corley.

When you start at Grind House Mixed Martial Arts, your fitness level will improve quickly, usually in the first 30 days. The key to see results is consistency and commitment over time so that’s why we recommend 3 classes per week as a start!
Yes! We provide guidance on eating right or sleeping well which can help maximize energy levels – getting YOU maximum results from your efforts.

Nope! Most of our members start just like you. Our classes are for all levels. Martial Arts is a great way to not only learn self defense but to get into shape. No other fitness class will have you using your entire body the entire hour like this will! You will also improve core strength, balance, and your stamina.

We are locally owned and purpose built to make an impact on the health and happiness in Houston and the surrounding area.

You’re not just a number here, everyone knows your name. We’re a community of like-minded people that wants you to show up and supports each other on this journey to live better lives – with no judgement or criticism along the way!

If you’re a beginner and just starting out then 2-4 times per week will be enough to see results and allow you to adjust.

You’ll be sore some days, so allow yourself recovery days between training sessions at first – over the course of the following months work up towards 5 days per week if you want to maximize!

You choose the program that best fits what you are looking for. Striking, Jiu Jitsu, or BOTH! As you progress through the classes you will be promoted to a new rank in Jiu Jitsu or if you feel like you want to challenge yourself, you can compete in exhibition matches, tournaments, or even become an amateur/pro MMA fighter.

Each class is led by qualified coaches. We always start together with a warm-up designed to activate the muscles being used in the class.
The coach will then teach a specific technique. During the class, the coach will be guiding and providing instruction as you drill and put the technique into live training.
At the end of class, we allow time for intermediate and advanced students to roll or spar. You can also use this time to drill any movements or cool down from class.

KRISTEN DROSCHE

COACH

The Yin to the Yang, Kristen is the calm, cool, overly detailed-minded Instructor in this Dynamic Duo. Kristen’s background in Athletic Training has given her a hyper awareness of the human body which translates well into her Jiu Jitsu game and in her instruction as a coach.

A true Jiujitiera, Kristen eats, drinks, and breathes Jiu Jitsu. A true student, she is always studying and watching tape of other styles, other techniques, and is a big fan of Judo. Do not let her quiet demener fool you, she is no stranger to the competition mats. You can expect a very technical class when she is teaching and you will leave the mat hungry for more knowledge.

Coach Kristen is our Jiu Jitsu instructor for Fundamentals and Regular Classes on Mondays and Wednesdays.

ALYSSA CANTU

COACH

A life long history of Martial Arts, Sports, and Health/Fitness; Alyssa found the pieces and pathways that are big parts of her life today. College was the launching pad for her deep understanding of exercise science and beginning her journey into MMA. Alyssa made it into the cage, the ring, and onto the stage & mats for all types of competitions under the tutelage of Professor Miguel Castro, Professor Travis Tooke, Michael Chase Corley, and Kru Bob Perez.

​A warrior but also a true student of her sport and career. She is able to use her creativity, and knowledge of exercise to craft/plan out exercise programs that get the non-fighter, fighter, and even Derrick Lewis into that Goldie Lock Zone for their particular needs.

Coach Alyssa is the Striking, MMA, and Tues/Thurs Jiu Jitsu Coach.

HOLD POLICY

Month-to-Month Membership Agreements and Annual Membership Agreements: You may place your Membership on hold two (2) times per calendar year up to three (3) consecutive months each time. Advanced notice of at least two (2) business days is required. The hold must be 30 days in duration at a minimum and 30 days must elapse between holds. Upon expiration of the term of the hold, your account will automatically become active and payments will resume. Should you choose to return prior to the end of their hold period, the hold will be released and payments will resume.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All membership agreements require 30-days written notice to cancel your membership. This form will serve as your 30-days written cancellation notice. Note that if you have a scheduled renewal payment within 30-days of your invoice billing date, the payment will be processed as scheduled. Your membership will be canceled at the end of your final paid month. All payments are non-refundable. All grandfathered membership rates will also be forfeited and returning members will be subject to current rates.
